Description
This shot was captured on a quiet weekday when the Lastiver gorge was completely empty, allowing the landscape to speak for itself. It was the first time I witnessed the Lastiver waterfalls in the process of freezing – not yet solid, but crystalline and beginning to slow.
To capture the soul of that cold, quiet day, I used a vintage Soviet lens. The aged glass produced a unique, moody palette of deep teals and warm browns that a modern lens simply couldn’t replicate. The result is a photograph that feels like a memory of a disappearing moment, overwhelming in its detail, yet calming in its stillness.
